Managing participants in a chat inbox

At any point of time, you can access your chat inbox settings, modify the widget's look and feel or change any other settings without needing to make changes to your website code. Hiver will automatically refresh the widget on your website if you make any changes to chat inbox settings.

To access settings to manage your chat inbox > Go to “Shared Inboxes” in the left-side menu > Select the chat inbox from the displayed list to view its settings.

Adding participants/users to a chat inbox

  1. Navigate to the “Participants” menu option in your chat settings near the left-side. You will now see a list of existing participants.
  2. Click on the “Add User” button highlighted in green on the right-side and select the participants you’d like to add to the chat inbox.You can also invite new participants by adding their email address.

[Note: In the “Add User” screen, you can search by typing the name of the participant or scroll and select. The list of participants is in alphabetical order]

  1. Click on “Done” near the top-right. All new participants will receive an email notification and also see the chat inbox in their left-panel in Gmail (after they have installed the Hiver Chrome extension)

Removing participants/users from a chat inbox

  1. Navigate to the “Participants” menu option in your chat settings near the left-side. You will now see a list of existing participants.
  2. To remove participants, simply select the checkbox next to a name and an option “Remove users” will appear.
  3. Click on “Remove Users”. A dialogue box will appear to confirm your choice. Click on “Remove” again.
